Helping your people understand more about the organisation and what it believes in (the Values) helps to build the key building blocks of strong business relationships: Know; Like; and Trust. A set of 3-7 Values will help define how your people will conduct themselves, reach decisions, and choose priorities.
Once you have determined the Values, you can then take them to your people and have them help you define them. You should end up with a Value statement: a one-sentence statement that helps define the meaning of the Value word. Plus, a set of behaviours that explains what people will be doing or saying when they live the Value.
