We strongly endorse businesses of 10 or more employees to consider implementing HR Technology to help them: 

 

 

  • Implement policies and procedures 

  • Roll out compliance training 

  • Issue contracts of employment 

  • Onboard and offboard employees 

  • Conduct surveys 

  • Capture performance feedback discussions 

  • Record disciplinary meetings and actions 

  • Centralise records to assist all stakeholders have a clearer insight as to progress and roadblocks. 

 

However, choosing a suitable HR Technology (HRIS) to support your organisation can be challenging, as there are a large number of systems in the market at all different price points and with various levels of customisation and flexibility. Someone experienced in vendor selection from an HR-application perspective can add value to your procurement process to ensure you select the best IT solution for your needs. 

 

Once a system has been selected, there is more to it than "plug and play". A successful implementation requires a thorough project plan that considers not just the set-up of the system to meet the operational needs, but how the employee group are to be trained and engaged in the use of the system to ensure maximum return on the investment. 

 

Regardless of what technology you choose, it is worthwhile engaging an HRIS Implementation Specialist to support your successful implementation.

There are two technology providers we generally recommend, depending on your employee numbers, budget and organisational maturity. Our team are highly experienced in the set-up, implementation and roll-out of both systems. 

For 10 to 100 employees: 

We recommend Employment Hero, as the most cost-effective and versatile employee lifecycle system including: 

  • Recruitment, onboarding and issuing contracts 

  • Managing leave 

  • Store documents safely in the cloud 

  • Plan performance feedback discussions and appraisals and recognise achievements 

  • Employee benefits 

  • HR Dashboard & Reporting 

  • Learning platform allowing you to load your learning materials, those customised by us, or for an additional cost, access to a library of 100s of pre-built courses. 

  • Option to add Payroll and Rostering to help you plan and pay your people. 

 

This platform can be somewhat customised but is largely an “off the shelf” system that can be fully implemented in about 4 weeks. 

 

For 100 or more employees: 

We recommend ELMO Software, which can be purchased in modules: 

  • HR Core* 

  • Recruitment 

  • Onboarding* 

  • Performance 

  • Learning* 

  • Succession 

  • Rewards and Recognition 

  • Payroll 

* These are the recommended minimum three modules. 

However, this system is highly configurable and therefore takes much more time and expertise to configure and implement. We recommend around 4-6 weeks per module to successfully implement. It's not uncommon for organisations to expect their existing team to deliver an implementation as well as execute their business-as-usual role, with no additional assistance; however, this can be counter-productive - delaying the roll-out or compromising the thoroughness of the plan. 

If you are limited on capacity and/or capability within your HR team (or you don’t have a HR team), we suggest gaining the support and expertise of an external provider to support your implementation journey.
