Casual Employment Information Statement

Did you know that all employers are required to provide their casual employees with the Casual Employment Information Statement, which can be found on the Fair Work Ombudsman website?

Casual Employment Information Statement

In addition, for those businesses who employ more than 15 employees, the employer will be required to offer conversion to permanent employment if:

• the employee has worked with the business for more than 12 months; and
• the employee has worked a regular pattern of hours for the past 6 months; and
• the employee could continue working these regular hours without significant changes.

Employers are not required to offer permanent employment if it is not reasonable to do so.

The employer must notify casual employees in writing, within 21 days after the assessment is made, and the employee will then have 21 days to respond.

If you need assistance with assessing and informing your casual employees in relation to casual conversion, we are here to help.
